Most lakes welcome visitors year-round, except for Moraine Lake. During winter, Parks Canada shuts down Moraine Lake Rd due to avalanches, and access to Moraine Lake is strictly regulated.

But fear not! From June 3 to October 14, 2024, the Moraine Lake Bus company shuttles whisk you to Moraine Lake, while their Lake Louise shuttle operates from June 14 to September 30, 2024.

Be warned: Lake Louise parking is scarcer than Bigfoot sightings in winter. Plan ahead, book online, and dodge disappointment.

For primo experiences, hit the lakes in early June to dodge crowds or fall for the fiery hues of larch trees against turquoise waters.
